Why I am starting this blog
I have started this blog so that my friends and family can follow my journey through the Army. I hope that this will make it much easier to keep in touch with everyone that writes or for those that are just curious about how things are going. During my first 9 or 10 weeks at Basic Training in Fort Benning Georgia I will not be able to directly log into this and write; so the plan is for me to note my experiences daily in a notebook then at some point at the end of the week write it all up and send it to my Mom or Dad so they can update this for me!!

Brett and I ended up driving Patrick to the Vallejo recruiters office because "they forgot about him!". Not a good way to start! Patrick was cool but Brett and I were a little more than upset. Anyway, it was a very difficult "see you soon" and he was off. About 2:30 pacific Pat sent me a text that he was in Sacramento checking in. We should hear from him tomorrow I will let you all know when he gets to Ft. Benning. Love to all and thank you for your love and support.
ReplyDeleteHello every one. It was a long day for Patrick and me. Brett and I thought Pat would have a day of travel today but as it turned out he spent the day in Sacramento doing MEPS and finalizing paperwork. So, Patrick and 8 other soldiers from CA will be departing tomorrow at 6:45 am layover in Minneapolis arriving in Atlanta around 5:30 pm. Then he will take a 4 hour bus ride to Ft. Benning arriving about 10pm. Then they have to be processed and assigned to a battalion. He probably will not get to sleep until 12 or 1 am only to have to get up the next day at 3:30 a.m. He is definitely in the army now.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone, my last communication with Patrick was about 3:45 Pacific time 8/9/11. Patrick was on the bus in Atlanta on his way to Ft. Benning. I do not expect to hear from him for at least 72 hours. I will update the blog when I hear from him. Patrick said he is fine. Please keep him in your prayers.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to keep the family posted on Patrick's progress. Give him our best from Maine
ReplyDeleteThanks You!! we will be checking in regularly!
